2X Quieter Performance: Refined with even stricter tolerances, precision-machined bronze bushings fit tighter around the shaft, and improved internal sleeve tolerances dampen sound and eliminate unwanted movement, ensuring a smoother and more stable lift.
Low Profile Sleeve Design: The matte black sleeves are now machined using a new low-profile sleeve design that allows for easier than ever loading and unloading of plates.
UNMATCHED REPUTATION
For over a decade, the Rogue 20KG Ohio Bar has set the industry standard as the ultimate multi-purpose barbell. With the latest edition, we've taken our flagship barbell to new heights, delivering our most dynamic and precision machined Ohio Bar to date. The Ohio Bar represents more than just the Rogue brand. Its name is a testament to where we work, who we are, and the pride we feel in continuing to make the best weightlifting bars in the market.
Please Note: Cerakote has an excellent resistance to corrosion, but metal-to-metal contact, particular on the sleeves, can still cause wear over time. For the best long term results, some cleaning and maintenance may be required. See our Ohio Bar Care Page for more info.

Best In Class Durability
With a F-Scale rating of F8-R, the Ohio Bar is among the most durable barbells in its class. By optimizing materials and manufacturing techniques, the Ohio Bar has been engineered to withstand the increased demands that CrossFit, Olympic lifting and functional fitness place on barbells today. LOW PROFILE SLEEVE DESIGN
Our matte black sleeve option uses a new, low-profile, sleeve design that makes loading and unloading plates easier than ever. The precision-machined sleeve is then treated with our proprietary matte black process, significantly enhancing its resistance to corrosion and impact. This treatment ensures that the sleeves retain their appearance for a much longer duration compared to traditional sleeve finishes.
2X QUIETER PERFORMANCE
Using precision machining, we are able to tighten the fit of the sleeve on the shaft which means a smoother spin, a more connected feeling while lifting and significant noise reduction.
How It's Made
FRICTION WELDING
The collars of the sleeves are friction welded, creating the strongest sleeves in the industry. This bond is as strong as if machined from a single piece of steel, while saving on waste and cost.
Rogue Work Hardening
Our patented, proprietary process more than doubles the durability and lifespan of the barbell shaft compared to our competitors.
Cerakote Shaft Finish
Cerakote delivers outstanding corrosion resistance over time—100X that of standard black zinc—while also providing many color options. This polymer-ceramic composite coating was first popularized in the firearm industry for its unique durability in thin applications.
Proprietary Sleeve Finish
Our matte black sleeve option involves a new process that effectively transforms the surface of the steel rather than coating it. This transformation significantly enhances the sleeves’ corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and abrasion resistance.
State-of-the-art Gauging
We use gauging normally employed in the aerospace industry to ensure that every bar that makes it to a customer is exactly as designed.
Barbell Durability
RUST RESISTANCE
The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.
BARBELL DURABILITY
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.
F SCALE™ APPLICATION
How a barbell is used will affect its durable lifespan and it's a key factor in determining what type of F Rating™ might be suitable for your gym's needs. This graph correlates the F Rating™ of a barbell with different types of usage in order to predict the durable lifespan. Using this data, we are able to make recommendations on what F Rating™ is appropriate for different training situations. With a rating of F8-R, the Ohio Bar is rated to last 16 years in a high volume CrossFit gym and will outlast a lifetime of lifting in an Olympic Weightlifting gym, a home gym or a Powerlifting gym.

MULTI-PURPOSE BARBELL
Designed to work well for both Powerlifting, Olympic Weightlifting and everything in between.
F-RATING
Our barbells are tested by a third-party to determine their F-Rating, or fatigue resistance, which is a measured representation of the durability of the barbell.
BARBELL BUSHINGS
Precision bronze bushings provide reliable fast spin while being exceptionally durable when subjected to impact from being dropped.
WHAT IS ROGUE WORK HARDENING?
Rogue Work Hardening (RWH) is our patented process for treating the shafts of our barbells to improve their durability.
BARBELL WEIGHT
20KG is the standard for most Powerlifting Federations, Men's Olympic Weightlifting and Men's CrossFit competitions.
BARBELL WHIP
The amount of springback provided by the bar that can be used by the lifter to increase the weight they can lift in dynamic movements.
BARBELL DIAMETER
The 28.5mm diameter falls directly between the 28mm Olympic and 29mm Powerlifting standard diameters.
MADE IN THE U.S.A.
Made from US steel, the Rogue Ohio Bar is machined and assembled at the Rogue factory in Columbus, OH.
TENSILE STRENGTH
Expressed in PSI, tensile strength measures the maximum weight a barbell can support before deforming. The 190K tensile strength falls within the optimal range of not bending under normal use, yet not been inflated to the point that it will shorten the life of the bar.
BARBELL KNURLING EXPLAINED
Our signature knurl, designed for multi-purpose use, provides a firm grip without being abrasive. This falls in the middle of the road on the knurl scale, striking a balance without being overly aggressive or passive.

Key Features of the Cerakote Ohio Bar:
Cerakote Strength + Custom Colors
This version of the Ohio Bar is distinct for its use of an advanced ceramic-based shaft coating known as Cerakote, which was originally established in the gun industry for its remarkable durability in thin applications. This unique finish can deliver superb abrasion/wear/corrosion resistance over time—100X that of standard black zinc—and it’s available to order in a range of exclusive colors, with the Rogue logo branded on the center of the shaft. See the purchase area for current color combination options.
BUILT FOR MULTI-PURPOSE PERFORMANCE
All of our flagship 20KG Ohio Bars utilize a U.S. steel variant that we believe is the best in the industry for use in a multi-purpose barbell. The 190,000 PSI shaft is ground and polished prior to machining, ensuring a smooth finish and optimal performance, and the refined knurling pattern delivers a firm but non-abrasive grip. Friction-welded sleeves and quality bronze bushings help produce an ideal combination of the consistent spin needed for Oly lifts and ample stability required for heavy Powerlifting.
NEW STRICTER TOLERANCES
Every connection in the Cerakote Ohio Bar now has tightened tolerances measuring in the thousandths of an inch. Using advanced optical profilometry as well as custom electronic gauging, we can produce a multipurpose bar that consistently meets our exacting standards. This applies to the knurl and the sleeve profile, as well as the features in the shaft and sleeves that enable a perfect fit during assembly. The result is less axial and radial float of the sleeves (i.e. enhanced stability), significant noise reduction, and a more solid feel throughout the lift.
PROPRIETARY MATTE BLACK SLEEVES
The matte black sleeves involve a new process that effectively transforms the surface of the steel rather than coating it. This greatly improves the sleeves’ corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and abrasion resistance. By using advanced optical profilometry to gauge the sleeve finish, we are also able to ensure that the profile of the sleeve stays exactly as designed. Proprietary matte black sleeves will typically maintain their appearance much longer than traditional sleeve finishes, even through regular everyday use.
