Needle Bearings
A set of needle bearings in each sleeve gives the T-5KG Tech Bar a uniquely smooth, consistent spin. Traditional technique barbells have rarely ever utilized this type of sleeve construction, and it introduces a high-end performance category into lightweight training.
Refine Your Form
A tech bar is most effective when it’s designed to prepare you for what’s next, whether you’re a young athlete using your first barbell, an amateur looking to safely practice your form, or an experienced lifter working your way back from an injury. The T-5KG is ideally suited for all these circumstances, offering a lightweight, manageable Olympic training bar with knurling and collar spacing accurate to IWF regulations.
Rogue Construction - Made in the USA
We now manufacture the T-5KG right here in Columbus, Ohio, using a lightweight but durable bare-aluminum construction. The shaft measures 25mm in diameter and 79.13” in length, while the bearing sleeves offer a loadable length of 12.5”. The single Oly knurl marks feature an exclusive Rogue pattern for a firm but non-abrasive hold.
A New Take on Tech Bars
Rogue has long believed that our technique, beginner, and rehab bars should reflect the same level of quality and craftsmanship as any competition bar in our fleet. The T-5KG Tech Bar is part of a growing series of developmental bars we’re building in-house, including the T-2.5KG Tech Bar, T-10KG Tech Bar, 10KG Junior Bar, and more. Each has its own unique qualities and design specs to meet the specific needs of a wide range of athletes.
Compatible with Most Standard Bumper Plates
The 1.96” sleeve diameter makes the T-5KG Tech Bar fully compatible with most standard size bumper plates, with a max load capacity topping out at 45 LBS, or 20 KG. This bar is NOT built for for loads in excess of that amount, and athletes are also advised against dropping the bar when loaded.
F SCALE™
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.
OXIDATION RATE
The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.
