Product Description

Rogue’s TF-1 Tib Trainer is a specialized weight training tool designed for getting the most out of your toe raises / tib raises. Made in the USA from 11-gauge steel and SCH 40 pipe, the TF-1 includes a machined acetal loading pin that has the same 1.96" diameter as an Olympic barbell sleeve, allowing the use of any standard plates and collar during set-up (customers can also choose to add a compatible OSO Mighty Collar pair to their order via the purchase area). The Tib Trainer weighs 10.8 LBS on its own, and 11 LBS with an OSO Mighty Collar attached.

Weighted tib raises are highly effective for strengthening the tibialis anterior muscle, located along the front of the lower leg from the knee to the ankle. The simple movement can be performed by sitting on a bench pad / raised surface with the legs straight and extended and the feet and ankles hanging off the edge, so that the toes can alternately be raised toward and then lowered away from the athlete. This not only helps build up the tibialis itself, but can also positively impact the neighboring muscles, tendons and ligaments around the knees and ankles, improving range of motion and reducing the risk of recurrent knee soreness and shin splints.

The TF-1 is designed to sit upright with the acetal sleeve angled upward for easy loading and unloading. A collar must be used to secure the plates for use. When ready to train, the athlete simply slides their feet between the two catch tubes–the top tube includes a closed-cell neoprene cover for optimal comfort.

Benefits of Tibialis Training

Toe raises, aka tib raises or anterior tibialis training, is a concentrated movement for strengthening the lower front portion of the leg, between the knee and ankle. A stronger tibialis anterior muscle can help reduce the risk of injury across high-mileage running and walking, and can also positively impact the neighboring muscles, tendons and ligaments around the knees and ankles, improving range of motion and helping to prevent recurrent knee soreness and shin splints. To use the Tib Trainer for this exercise, simply load your desired weight on the loading pin, attach the collar, then–while sitting on a bench or raised surface–slide your feet between the two catch tubes and extend your legs straight out with your feet and ankles hanging over the edge. Repeat raising your toes toward you and then lowering them back away from you.

Very Nice
Fitness experts say tibia raises are important for good balance and maintaining proper knee and ankle function. I have had an opportunity to use my TF-1 now for a few months and I really like it. I purchased a single ankle unit two years ago from a quality Australian in brand and it is also really nice. But, I prefer the TF-1 because you can exercise both tibia muscle groups at the same time keeping everything uniform. Tibia exercises are kinda like spices for me…I sprinkle them into my workouts on a weekly basis. My tibias are bulging off the front of my shins now. It’s a good idea to figure out a good method for supporting your lower legs while performing the tibia raises. I use a large foam back roller to comfortably keep my ankles elevated while conducting the movement. I always give Rogue 5 stars for their indestructible build quality and the TF-1 is another win for me. The textured powder coat is excellent, the welds are absolutely perfect and smooth. The Rogue end caps are a nice detail also. The geometry between the foot catch tubes seems to be very well placed for my sizes 8.5 shoes. The top tubes are cushioned with foam to offer comfort to the top of your foot. I have had no problems with the weight plates (I use two 5lb. change plates usually) ever coming loose. Definitely recommend this U.S. made quality piece.

Get it
This thing is really good. Really humbling. The amount of effort, tension, pain, I feel with very little weight let's me know that I was neglecting this part of my lower leg. Well built, Rogue quality and finishing. Takes no space to store. It's a great piece of equipment.

Built Like Tank!
Got this as a Christmas present for myself in DEC2022 and I wanted ample run time to review it. First the cons: NO CONS, Aside from shipping to Hawaii? Okay now for the pros: This is built like a tank! It’s hefty AF! Mind you, this isn’t my first Tib Bar, I had the other “Guys” tib bar beforehand and this Rogue TF-1 blows it out of the water! I’ll give a 5/5 Stars! Also, I don’t know how the foam will hold up with long term use, you got shoe laces rubbing and pressing up against it….we’ll see. Also, the “Rogue” laser cut emblem has some rust between the letterings…idk how to remedy that as it is between the lettering. Be aware that this DOES NOT come with a collar! Be sure you have collars readily available or pick up a pair. Definitely would recommend this product!

This tib bar has some bad decisions.
This is the rare Rogue product that was a miss for me. For some reason they decided to make the weight bar out of Delrin, which is slippery, so even with two Rogue collars and 45lbs on the bar it slides right off. There's also what I would consider to be too much space between the bars, even for my size 13 feet in running shoes, so it's pretty uncomfortable to an older bar I have.

Extremely sturdy!
This was a solid as well as heavy piece of equipment. No worries about this being dropped or thrown around. Heavier than I anticipated. High quality without a doubt.

Great Quality
Bought this product about two months ago and it's proven to be a good investment. Really high quality build and have become a staple in my weekly routine. Would definitely recommend.
