Rogue MG-4F Multi Grip Bar
Rogue MG-4F Multi Grip Bar
Product Description
The MG-4F is the latest evolution of the Rogue specialty multi-grip barbell. Available here with a flat steel frame (a Camber and Narrow Camber version are sold separately), this patent pending design offers two major advantages over other multi-grip bars on the market:
- The sleeves rotate in the style of a standard barbell and come in your choice of two nearly indestructible finishes.
- Athletes can select both the width and angle of the handles, building a bar that is optimized for their size and training preferences.
The MG-4F’s friction welded sleeves, which are available with 9” of loadable length or 15.5” of loadable length, use the same internal components as our standard barbells and rotate on shafts made from the same stainless steel as our power bars. The distance between the sleeves is also the standard 51.5”, making the bar rackable on any Rogue power rack, squat stand, rig, or bench.

MG-4F Flat Multi-Grip Bar
TWO SLEEVE LENGTH OPTIONS (BOTH ARE RACKABLE):
- 15.5” of Loadable Sleeve Space - 55 LB unloaded bar weight (frame + sleeves + 2 handles). Available with stainless steel or proprietary matte black finish.
- 9” of Loadable Sleeve Space - 45 LB unloaded bar weight (frame + sleeves + 2 handles). Available with stainless steel or proprietary matte black finish.
*The shaft is stainless steel in all versions, regardless of sleeve finish or length.
ADDITIONAL HANDLE PAIR OPTIONS (AT VARIABLE COST):
- 28.5mm - Straight, 16-degree, or 20-degree angle. Stainless steel or proprietary matte black finish.
- 32mm - Straight, 16-degree, or 20-degree angle. Stainless steel or proprietary matte black finish. [The straight 32mm handles include a center knurl mark for assisting the customer in finding the center of the handle].
All handle types have the same knurl pattern as our Ohio Bars and can be added to the frame at 2-inch intervals, meaning that a set can be functionally spaced anywhere from a minimum of 6” to a maximum of 26” apart. This enables athletes to customize their bar for multiple movements—from close grip presses and triceps work to biomechanically optimized grips at shoulder-width and beyond.
The sleeves, handles, and hardware of the MG-4F are all finished in your choice of either Stainless Steel or our Proprietary Matte Black finish. Both of these extremely durable, corrosion-resistant options will maintain the look and performance of the sleeves across daily use. And because the Proprietary Matte Black finish doesn’t add any thickness when applied, customers can expect that both the stainless and black handle options will feel exactly as they would coming straight out of the lathe. Note: The handle and bolt finish will match your selected sleeve finish.
The 41” frame portion of the bar has been improved with this model, as well; built from 1.5” x 1.5” 11-gauge steel tubing with 1/4” plates, a machined socket, and a matte black powder coat finish. The sleeves are assembled to the shafts by our barbell assembly team, but to save on shipping costs, we developed a unique interlocking taper design that allows for easy assembly with a single nut using the included wrench. The joint created by this interlocking taper is every bit as strong as a weld, and will hold up to whatever an athlete throws at it. Even after the nut is removed, it takes a lot of force with a mallet to free the shaft from the socket (something to keep in mind if you decide to change to a different sleeve length at a later date).
IMPORTANT: The MG-4F Bar ships with the sleeve assemblies disconnected from the frame, but all required hardware and tools for assembly are provided, including a set of 5/16” allen keys + 1/2” x 2-½” button heads bolts for the handles and a 1.5” Monster Wrench for securing the sleeve to the frame. The bolt finish will match your selected sleeve finish.

Key Features of the MG-4 Flat Multi-Grip Bar
Adjustable Knurled Handles
The MG-4 comes standard with (2) removable knurled grip handles (28.5mm outside diameter) in your choice of a stainless steel or proprietary matte black finish. With their threaded design, these handles can be positioned anywhere along the bar’s 41” long frame, using the included allen keys for attachment. Functional spacing options range from a minimum or 6” to a max of 26”. Additional handle pairs can be selected in the purchase area (at extra cost), with standard Straight Handle and two Angled Handle options available. Keep in mind, the ideal biomechanical angle for an efficient, safe lift expands as the handles move further apart. Rogue recommends the following handle spacing for Angled Handles when pressing:
20-degree: 26" or 22" spacing
16 degree: 18" or 14" spacing
Straight: 10" or 6" spacing
Additional configurations may work for other movements, as closely spaced angled handles may work well for skull crushers for many athletes.
Barbell Style Sleeves in 2 Length Options
Available in standard (15.5” loadable length) and short (9”) variants, the rackable sleeves on the MG-4 are built using the same construction methods and components as our Rogue Power Bar, producing a smooth rotation. The two quality sleeve finish options (stainless steel and proprietary matte black) also help eliminate paint chipping and maximize the bar’s long-term corrosion resistance. Please Note: The sleeve assemblies ship disconnected from the frame and can be attached using the included 1.5” Monster Wrench. They can also be removed and replaced, but removal will require additional tools (such as a rubber mallet) and a means of securing the frame in place.
Quality Frame Construction
The frame portion of the bar is built from 1.5” x 1.5” 11-gauge steel tubing with 1/4” laser-cut plates and a machined socket. Mounting holes for the handles are 2” on center all along the sides, and the frame is finished in the same soft touch matte black powdercoat as our recently released RM43 line of racks.
Interlocking Taper Design and Machined Nut
The shaft of the sleeve connects to the frame using an interlocking taper; a staple of the machine tool industry for more than a century. The conical shape of the shaft is inserted into a conical cylinder that, when tightened with the machined hex nut, creates an extremely rigid joint.
